Growth Circles
At a Ferris Professional Development Day, our staff learned about the strategy of using Growth Circles with students. This involves students using concentric circles to map out what is "Can Do" and what is "Not Yet" with respect to learning. This approach can be taken when self-assessing core competencies or with a particular subject area such as Math or Physical Education. Students develop a growth mindset by identifying the things they already can do and the things they will be able to do with more effort and practice.
