In February, Ferris organized a school-wide event to observe Pink Shirt Day. Students created origami pink shirts that included messages of anti-bullying and inclusion. Lessons were taught that focused on the social responsibility aspect of SEL and the importance of showing Ferris HEART. Transitional Learners participated by sending in their pictures from home. A Zoombly was created with a series of videos and slideshows that was shared with the entire Ferris community. The Richmond News did a story on our event and Ferris students were featured on the front page of the paper.
