SEL in Kindergarten: Feelings Jars and Hearts
Feelings Jars and Hearts
Ferris Kindergarten students worked with Connie Easton on identifying and naming their emotions. For one activity, students used feeling jars to identified colours that they associate with various emotions. In another activity, they used these colours to express how they are feeling in that moment. The better students become at naming their own emotions, the better they will be at regulating them. Over time, they will build resiliency and develop problem solving skills. Activities like these can be practiced at home as well.
