Track Meet @ Minoru
Dear Ferris Families,
We are very excited for our Track & Field Meet tomorrow, Wednesday, May 13.
Please see below for information for all Grades 4-7 students.
Arrival at School
Grades 5-7 students must arrive at school at 8:00am.
They will meet in the gym and do attendance with their classroom teacher. They should be prepared for the day. They will walk to Minoru Park as a large group.
Grade 4 students will arrive at the regular time, 8:45am, and go to their classroom for attendance. They will walk to Minoru Park with the other grade 4 classes.
Preparation
Students should wear running shoes (no Crocs), athletic clothing appropriate for running, jumping and throwing, and pack additional layers depending on the weather. It would be a good idea to wear or pack track pants, a light jacket and/or hoodie. It is also a good idea to show your Ferris heart and wear your Ferris Shirt and to bring/wear sunscreen and a hat.
Food and Drink
It is very important that the students are fueled and hydrated with healthy choices. Students should pack a lunch and bring enough snacks and drink for the day. Water will be available at filling stations.
A concession is available only during the students' Break Station but does not have healthy lunch choices. We discourage the students from bringing money or any other valuables.
Schedule
Families are welcome to come and watch their children participate in the Track Meet. Please see the schedule below and attached for your student's planned rotation through the event stations. We ask family members please do not interfere with any of the event and activity stations.

End of the Day
Students will walk back to Ferris after the Track Meet finishes at 2:15pm. They should return for regular dismissal.
If students wish to leave the Track Meet with a parent or guardian, they MUST sign out with the student's supervising staff member.
Student Behaviour Expectations
We always have high expectations for our Ferris students' behaviour and hope they are looking for opportunities to show their Ferris HEART.
Students will be expected to:
- follow the SD38 Code of Conduct (focus on safety and respect)
- stay with their assigned group at all times
- listen and follow staff instructions
- show respect to all students and staff
Students have received all of this information at school and should be able to prepare themselves for the Track Meet on Wednesday.
