Staying Connected
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe that we are already into the first week of October. Students all appear to be refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for more rich educational experiences in the classroom as well as outside the classroom environment. Ferris School continues to place a high emphasis on social responsibility and the safety of all our students, staff and parents. The quality of the relationships formed in the school community is central to creating a positive and productive educational environment for learning. On behalf of the staff at Ferris, we would like to extend a sincere invitation to join you in making your child’s education as rich and rewarding as possible.
TERRY FOX RUN
Our annual Terry Fox Run will be held on Friday morning, October 13th between 10:45 am and noon. Parents are most welcome to join us to run (or walk). We are also looking for parent volunteers to help with traffic control during the run. If you are available to volunteer, please kindly email me by October 10th: eadjeiachampon@sd38.bc.ca.
Sushi Lunch Day- October13th
Just a kind reminder to please kindly place your sushi lunch orders for your child on Munch-a-Lunch by Sunday. Hot lunch orders are placed through the Munch-a-Lunch website. To sign up for an account on Munch-a-Lunch, visit https://munchalunch.com/schools/Ferris/. The PAC is kindly looking for parent volunteers to help with our Sushi Lunch Day on October 13th. Parent volunteers have always been an essential part that made Ferris lunch days a success in the past years.
Lost And Found
Our Lost and Found bin is full! Please have your child kindly check for any of their missing clothing items. In addition, it is always a good idea to label your child’s clothing with your child’s name and division, especially if they are in a lower primary grade.
Staff Parking Lot Safety!
All parking lots at Ferris, are kindly reserved for staff only – not for parents to pick up and drop off their children unless in exceptional circumstances. Congestion in the parking lot in the morning, at lunch time, and after school is very unsafe for the children with a school this size. We kindly ask that you continue to bike, scooter or walk to school, or at least part of the way to school. If you must drive, please kindly park a block or two away noting the no stopping signs. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding.PAC
A kind reminder our first PAC meeting of the school year will be held on October 16th at 6:00 pm at Ferris in our Computer Lab. All Ferris parents are invited to attend PAC meetings this year.
Every parent of a student(s) at WD Ferris Elementary are considered members of our Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Parents are instrumental in supporting their children’s learning and success at school. Parents can help strengthen the Community within the school to make the learning experiences for their children even greater.
