Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

School re-opens after the winter break on Monday, January 4.  We hope you've all had a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you all again in 2016!  Some upcoming dates for you to note:

•January 4-15:  Outdoor Education Bottle Drive; fundraiser for Outdoor Education.  We'll gladly accept any bottles, cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, tetra paks, etc. (any items that receive a deposit when you return them).  Please note that we are not collecting items like milk jugs, soup cans, etc.....these can be put into your own home recycling instead!  Thank you for supporting our Outdoor Education program for our grade 6 and 7 students.

•January 8:  "BLING in the NEW YEAR!"  For our first Spirit Day of 2016, we are encouraging staff and students to "bling" up their outfits with any fun and decorative accessories (i.e. hats, sunglasses, costume jewelry, etc.) to help us welcome in the new year with some fun Ferris style!  (Please make sure that students are still able to move and play easily as they will still be going outdoors for recess/lunch and may have gym that day as well)

• January 12:  PAC meeting, 6:30 pm in the school staffroom.  Welcome to all Ferris parents; please come out and join us to hear information about the school, upcoming projects, and get to know some other parents in our school community!

• January 14:  Outdoor Education Meeting for Parents and Students who are currently in grades 5 and 6 (will be in grades 6 and 7 in September 2016).  We will have a display, and a representative from Camp Elphinstone will present information about the camp and school staff will be able to answer questions you may have.  We strongly encourage all students and their parent(s)/guardians to attend if possible.
